Your Role
RPM, the Driving Force in Logistics™, is looking for a Carrier Manager to work within the Freight Carrier Sales Department. In this role you will be responsible to coach, mentor, & manage a group of Carrier Sales reps. Your ultimate goal is to successfully grow each reps overall book of business though design, planning, and execution of Carrier Sales Department strategies and KIP’s.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and mentor Carrier Sales Reps & Carrier Ops reps
- Oversee and enforce RPM processes:
- Offers & acceptance process, exceptions, carrier development, carrier compliance, max buys, driver info, ect.
- Load board prioritization
- Communicate and strategize with Customer Ops
- Host morning huddles
- Issue load assignments and development initiatives
- Coaching and monitoring “point-of-sale” best practices. Negotiation, carrier selection, understanding customer load details, building a carrier network.
- Tracking performance management:
- Tech tracking measurement, enforcement, and strategy.
- Ensure all the shipments that move within your region (team) are always in the appropriate status (OTP, OTD , tech tracking)
- Escalation path for issue resolution
- Manage and monitor: PTO, weekend shift, early shift, late shift, buddy system, and holiday schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- 2 years logistics experience in a Carrier Sales or Operations role
- Must excel in a team-based environment, while delivering independent results
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Must be in the office at least three days a week
- Must be self-motivated and bring a can-do attitude to the job
- Work full-time M-F, and willing to work outside normal business hours based on the needs of the business.
