Functional Description:
The Parts Repair Technician III is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electronic
components of medical ultrasound Parts (“Parts”). Repairs performed are to be completed
through documented repair methods and under ISO 13485:2016 standards. Adherence to
these requirements is not only for Summit Imaging’s commitment to quality, but also for the
high level of patient safety that our customers expect from us.
The Parts Repair Technician III ranks as the highest level on the production team. This
technician has a strong knowledge base of all repair functions, the overall operation of the
company, and the role they have within the department. This technician has proven
consistency in being able to provide critical assistance or full resolutions to complicated
repairs or processes and provides proper documentation to memorialize solutions. Although
this role is not a leadership position, the reverence of this technician level will attract other
technicians towards this person for guidance. As a result, the role will require extensive work
with coworkers at all levels to help others succeed in the interest of the company.
The Parts Repair Technician III is expected to meet or exceed all requirements designated for
Parts Repair Technician III and performs additional responsibilities as outlined in the
Production Job Matrix. Due to the nature of the repair industry, we periodically will require that our technician skill
sets are augmented for the company to stay competitive. These skill sets will be in line with
other skills within the tier. Expectations will be first discussed and trained prior to solidification
as a responsibility. These specific job requirements are listed in the Production Job Matrix.

Responsibilities:
Utilize documented procedures to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronics
Perform testing of boards and Parts to ensure proper operation after repairs have
been completed.
Competently repair electronics at the component level
Demonstrate and maintain competent soldering skills with through-hole, and SMD
Repair component-level problems without engineering schematics or data sheets
Perform BGA rework
Meet or exceed established expectations for repair times
Support the team with creations or improvements in processes and capabilities
Communicate effectively with management
Complete projects as required by management
Complete tasks as required for company-wide responsibilities
Work in a deadline-driven atmosphere and handle multiple projects/tasks with an
attention to detail
Complete training required for job duties and demonstrate competency through testing
and performance evaluations
Maintain shop equipment
Assist in training of new hires.
Assist in Part identification and alternative compatible Parts
Perform the programming of repaired Parts when required.
Create and execute plans for projects as directed by management
Job Requirements:
Industry Specific Skills:
Experience using small/precision hand-held tools Experience using electronic testing
equipment
Ability to utilize industry standard equipment for electronics repair Ability to perform fine
pitch soldering under a microscope
High degree of hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
Strong knowledge of the operation of component level electronics is required Strong
knowledge of computer components and functions
BGA removal and installation expertise is beneficial
Can demonstrate competency in the process of troubleshooting
General Skills and Achievements:
High school diploma or equivalency
AS or AAS in electronics or equivalent experience is strongly recommended but not
required
Two or more years of electronics repair experience is preferred but not required
Must be able to work overtime if necessary Proficient in Windows 9.x, XP, 8.x, 10, and
DOS.
Passing drug testing and background checks are required
Ability to perform and thrive in a continual learning environment
Able to carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds Ability to sit or
stand for extended periods of time
