What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Coordinator position at RS Utility Structures Inc?
OVERVIEW:
The purpose of the Shipping Coordinator position is to ensure that all customer orders are scheduled, processed and shipped as per customer requirements. This position reports to the Materials Manager. As a member of the RS team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for other's well-being through best practices in health and safety in addition to the company's values of respect, integrity, quality, teamwork and professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review incoming sales orders
- Create the necessary Module Construction templates to meet the Order Preparation schedule to ensure that orders are shipped as per customer requirements
- Create necessary schedules for the winding rooms to meet customer demands and maximize facility
- Prepare a shipping schedule detailing timing of trucks and load details
- Ensure the creation of the necessary shipping and customs documentation for each shipment is completed
- Ensure the necessary transportation is arranged for each order and communicate the timing of each shipment to Supervisors, Order Preparations staff and other members of the organization
- Work with the other members of the organization to ensure that schedules are met in an efficient manner and Customer delivery commitments are honored
TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year college diploma in Business, Accounting or Supply Chain Management preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in similar position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- MS Office
- Basic understanding of ERP/MRP Systems
- Forklift and Crane Operations certification
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerance understanding an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Plant environment
- Working outside may required
- Work requires bending, sitting, stooping, climbing, walking and standing
- Overtime will be required as necessary
