This Workers Comp Revenue Recovery Specialist is responsible for evaluating referred accounts to confirm they fall under the WC guidelines for the various states handled. A Worker's Comp Recovery Specialist will review account information to identify the responsible payer, assure the bill and records are received by the payer within the allowed timelines, and confirm the payment is correct. For unpaid or underpaid bills, the Representative will submit appeals to collect correct payment. This position will focus on workers compensation claims for the state of Maine.

The Opportunity:
- Manage an inventory from multiple clients with a variety of accounts with complex issues, such as:
- New and priority accounts to be worked within 48 business hours
- Aged and high dollar accounts to be worked as necessary to ensure efficient revenue cycle recovery
- Accounts that require substantive review by the coding and utilization departments
- Prepare and submit appeals with required documentation in a timely manner
- Identify and resolve any outstanding issues causing delay or non-payment of bills
- Use professional notation that is clear, concise and comprehensive throughout the complex account resolution process
- Maintain professional relationships and communication with patients, employers, and payer representatives
- Learn and implement client specific protocols and procedures
- Demonstrate proficiency with web portals, client systems, and databases as necessary to document and resolve accounts
- Identify recent payer resolution trends and relay them to peers
What you bring:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience and knowledge of Workers' Comp processes
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
