Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young individuals with disabilities? Rehabilitative Services & Vocational Placement, Inc. (RSVP, Inc.) is looking for a dedicated Skills Trainer to support student interns at the Project SEARCH program based at Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA.
About Project SEARCH: Project SEARCH is a dynamic high school transition-to-work program, specializing in preparing young people with disabilities for competitive, integrated employment. At Mary Washington Healthcare, we believe in total workplace immersion, combining instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through departmental rotations.
Responsibilities: As a Skills Trainer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with team members and Mary Washington Healthcare staff
- Providing job skills training to student interns during internship rotations
- Assisting with curriculum instruction
- Documenting progress notes as required by stakeholders
- Offering job coaching, developing task lists, and implementing worksite accommodations/modifications
- Job development to support student interns with placement into community-based employment
- Conducting job site training after placement for success on the job
- Providing follow-along services to individuals after job stability is achieved
Work Environment: While the primary location is Mary Washington Healthcare, this role involves travel into the community to support interns with job placement and job site training at community-based worksites.
