Under general guidance, support the contractual needs of the business unit by performing research and analysis of contract requirements, special provisions, statutes, and regulations; assisting in crafting advice to research staff, finance personnel, and other stakeholders; attending meetings, presentations, and other forums to better understand the technical business; participating in the preparation of proposals to clients and the resulting negotiations and administration of contracts, including reviewing, drafting, editing, and negotiating contractual terms and conditions; preparing teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements, and other documents; and creating, drafting, and modifying terms and conditions to meet the requirements of individual contractual situations.

This position can be in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina or in any other U.S location as a telecommuter.
Under general guidance, you will:
Research contractual regulations and perform analysis in order to provide guidance on various rules and regulations.
Review RFPs, RFAs, and requests for bids and pricing information for business risks.
Review proposals, applications, modifications, agreements, add-ons, teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements before final submission and/or execution.
Review, draft, edit, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions with external customers.
Negotiate and/or administer contract proposals and projects.
Manage the contract change process, identifying the need for contract modifications and negotiating changes.
Analyze post-award contract requirements and coordinate with financial and technical staff to respond to customer requirements.
Document and disseminate information received from clients and update internal systems to reflect contract terms.
What you’ll need to be successful in the role:
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Preferred: basic knowledge of contractual agreements and federal regulations that include CFR, FAR, OMB Circulars, and other federal terms and conditions.
Experience working in a professional, cooperative, and collaborative manner.
Good analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized and able to meet business-driven deadlines and commitments while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to use judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Proficiency in computer-based business applications (Microsoft software products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook or comparable software).
