General Description
As new team members in RubinBrown’s Tax Compliance & Consulting Services Group, our staff accountants participate in a rotational-based program for their first two years at the firm. This program allows for a unique introduction to many of the avenues that a professional tax career has to offer. Spending several months in each of the key areas of our Tax Compliance & Consulting Services Group, team members engage in a wide variety of projects, assignments and experiences. Each concentration encompasses a significant amount of client services and provides for different types of expertise.
Business Tax
- Preparation and analysis of C and S corporation returns across various industries
- Preparation and analysis of nonprofit entity returns
- Preparation and analysis of income tax provisions
- Understanding of overall business taxation and law
State & Local Tax (SALT)
- Preparation and analysis of both corporate and partnership state and local income, franchise, personal property and sales/use tax returns across various industries and numerous states and cities
- Understanding of the connection between federal taxation and state/city taxation
- Research and analysis of state and city tax statutes to assist clients in planning
Private Client Services
- Preparation and analysis of individual, trust, gift and estate tax returns
- Preparation and analysis of quarterly individual income tax projections
- Introduction to family office services and investment advisory services
- Research and analysis of financial planning structures to assist in meeting a client’s lifetime financial goals
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree, Masters degree in Accounting is preferred
- Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in the technology environment
- Have the ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strict adherence to professional ethics
- Ability to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firm
