The restaurant team seeks to hire Hosts/Seaters, that are responsible for greeting and checking in guest’s upon arrival and assisting in maintaining the guest list and making sure guests are seating timely at their table.
Key Job Duties
- Inform the guests that their table is ready and invite them to the table.
- Pull out guest chairs and tables to make it easier for the guests to sit down.
- Respond to guests requests at the time of seating.
- Answer calls promptly to maximize the restaurant’s capacity.
- Use reservation system when taking reservations and when checking on current or future reservations; ensure accuracy when entering data into the reservation system.
- Utilize all tables to achieve higher turnaround of guests.
- Help move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to tables, chairs, bar stools, and other restaurant and dining furniture.
- Assume other host responsibility related to operational items at the host/reception desk.
- Tour the restaurant in intervals to identify any empty tables and the management on duty.
- Stock all necessary stationary, i.e. pens, menus, table seating chard,
- Other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager on Duty.
Working Knowledge, Experience Requirements
- Open availability particularly during public holidays and weekends as these days are the busiest for the restaurant. Work shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Solid attendance and punctuality required.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- 21 year of age.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company Standards.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a host in a high-volume/upscale dining restaurant.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including food, beverage, reservation techniques and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations including food, beverage, restaurant service techniques and guest interaction.
- Knowledge of all reservations policies and able to make reservations.
- Knowledge of cancellation fees, cake fees, corkage fees, etc.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise and crowds of people. This role involves constant contact with the public.
- Fast paced, high volume, high energy.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
