Senior Dog Daycare Attendants
Ruff n Tumble Playcare - N. Andover, MA
The ideal candidate is needed for 30 hours per week and available to work afternoons (until 6:30pm) and rotating Saturdays.
Ruff 'n Tumble Playcare has immediate openings for an experienced Dog Daycare Attendants for our dog daycare programs. This is a position with potential for growth into management. We are looking for people with at least some experience in working with animals in groups. For this job experience means you have worked in a dog daycare, or vet office. Owning a dog or pet sitting (including Care, Rover or Wag does not count as experience) If you have a passion for dogs or are looking to pursue a career in animal care, then this may be the position for you! We are hiring for full time and part time positions with start dates now.
Responsibilities of a Sr. Daycare Attendant must include, but are not limited to:
- Daily supervision and care of dogs for training, lodging and daycare
- Interacting with customers
- Overseeing Dog Daycare Groups
- Potential for working well in a team
- Walking & Exercising our guests
- Feeding and administering medications
- Daily cleaning of our guests playrooms and surrounding areas
- Daily health monitoring of our guests
Requirements:
Any candidates interested in this opportunity must have excellent communication skills and a strong willingness to work in a team environment. You must be motivated! This team environment will require you to get along with other members and take/give direction.
All applicants must have a flexible schedule and be able to work on weekends and holidays. Full time hours range will range from 35-40 hour per week. Part time hours can range between 12-30 hours per week. Must be able to work afternoon shifts until 6:30 and work rotating weekends and holidays
All candidates must be extremely attentive to their surroundings and have an eye for attention to detail. This position is physical and requires standing on your feet up to 8 hours a day as well as a keen sense of what others are doing around you. Your main focus will be to monitor and supervise dogs and their behavior while in play groups. You will be expected to intervene if/when appropriate. There is a lot of cleaning involved in dog daycare management so please be prepared. You can not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Also you must be able to pick up and/or carry up to 50lbs
Most importantly, you must absolutely love dogs! This is a very fast paced environment that takes a special kind of person. It can be stressful, so you must be able to take correction and direction in a fast paced environment. In dog daycare, situations can change in a second so you must be able to react/respond. While we all love dogs (and often prefer them over humans) we do not pick up, carry, or hug and kiss the dogs while managing groups.
The “must haves” to work with us
- If you have a minimum of 1 year RELEVANT experience in a dog care environment (daycare, training, animal related work or veterinary positions) you will be consider experienced.
- Experience handling large breed dogs, working dogs or farm animals is a plus. (Owning a dog or pet sitting does not count)
- Must be 18 years or older. This not an after school job
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Must be available on some weekends, holidays and evenings. (We are open Monday –Saturday for daycare.)
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and/or live locally and able to be at work on time.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, bend and stand for long periods of time.
- Must love dogs and must at least like humans.
- Individuals studying to be a dog trainer, or other animal behavior students will have an advantage, but that experience is not required.
- Individuals that have vet tech, vet assistant, groomer or bather experience and want something different will also be considered.
- Individuals that have experience with horses or other farm animals is a plus, but this experience is not required.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
