Rush Education - Hawaii is looking for an Adjunct Teacher to help our student athletes fulfill their goals in Aiea, Hawaii.
The Adjunct Teacher must be proficient in teaching Algebra 1 & 2; Geometry; Pre-Calculus and Science in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each session is a two-hour block of Mathematics or Science. There are a total of 12 blocks of instruction of Mathematics and Science to be covered. This is perfect for an Adjunct Teacher. Pay is excellent!
7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Training will be given on our academic software upon hire. Other jobs may be assigned by supervisor or management as it relates to the educational program as a whole - examples may include but are not limited to - administrative filing for student’s records, teacher planning meetings, phone calls, classroom cleaning, communication with parents, et cetera. Applicants must live within a 10-mile to 25-mile radius of the Academy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to integrate classroom technology into the instructional methodology
- Organize classroom lectures and coursework
- Modify lesson plans in our digital system and add materials as needed
- Monitor and track student progress and grades
- Ensure that students meet educational state standards and school performance goals for their grade level
- Prepare materials and activities
- Assign homework and interesting exercises
- Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans
- Determine exam and assignment grades
- Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behavior
- Ensure that the classroom stays orderly
- Encourage students to read out loud in class
- Write progress reports for students
- Ability to read information from the NWEA
- NWEA testing – to be able to test a student, write goals and improve student academic performance
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators
- Be part of a leadership team
- Collaborate with other teachers to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly
- Be a Team player and put the students first
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree from an accredited institution
- Certified with a State Certification in Mathematics and Science
- Minimum of 5 Years' Teaching Experience preferred
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
This is a part-time position; salary is to be determined. The candidate must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
