What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Rusk kitchen + Bar?
Rusk Kitchen Bar located in East Walnut Hills. We have an 2 elevated bar areas, large dining room, two private event spaces, and a rooftop patio. We will be running a full lunch and dinner menus everyday of the week as well as a brunch menu on Sundays. We are looking for exceptional people to join the team and help us build a great team. Applicants must possess the following:
- Previous experience is highly valued, but not necessary
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to move quickly in a fast paced environment
- the ability to think critically and in stressful situations
- Open Table platform knowledge is a plus
- Able to answer phones, and welcome guests accordingly
- Well represented for the Brand
Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the establishment
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries
- Manage the waitlist and notify guests when their table is ready
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth dining experience
- Handle guest complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive atmosphere for guests
Experience:
- Previous experience in hospitality or guest relations preferred
- Familiarity with hotel operations is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations with grace
- Proficiency in using Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is an advantage
