What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Corporate Compliance/Privacy Officer position at Rutland Regional Medical Center?
The Director, Corporate Compliance/Privacy Officer is primarily responsible for leading the corporate compliance program, which includes the HIPAA Privacy Program, under the direction of the VP, General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer, including managing and implementing the compliance workplan, implementing necessary policies and procedures, conducting investigation related to detected offenses, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Compliance and Privacy program. This position is responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to implement elements of the Corporate Compliance and Privacy Program to ensure compliance with new and existing federal and state laws and regulations affecting Rutland Regional Medical Center (“RRMC”).
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Health Care Administration.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration with focus in Finance, Accounting or Health Care Administration or Juris Doctorate preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
- 4 years compliance work experience in revenue integrity, billing, finance, coding, auditing, and/or a combination of the above.
- 4 years general Corporate Compliance and Privacy experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or Licensed Attorney.
- CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) is not a requirement but is a plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and experience in Health information privacy laws, access, release of information and release contract technologies.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in health information management
- Extensive knowledge of federal laws impacting health systems.
- Self-starter
