- JOB SUMMARY
- Trinitas Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the state with more than 73,000 emergency visits annually. Our newly renovated Emergency Room has a total of 45 treatment rooms with separate treatment areas for families, children and seniors.
PCA s perform a variety of routine and advanced patient care tasks under the direction of nursing staff to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. They perform a variety of clerical and technical tasks as assigned. Participate in patient care interventions and personal care procedures for patients. Perform approved dressings and wound care; participate in nutritional activities; assist with personal hygiene; assist with ambulation; assist with bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.
Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to include obtaining specimens, taking vital signs and measurements, positioning patients and attaching equipment leads to specific body locations.

- Educational Skills Required (Degree(s), Certification(s), License, etc.)
- Completion of related technical education course, on-the-job training or completion of Fundamentals in Nursing course. Ability to perform all competencies is required for employment in this position. Phlebotomy and CPR certified within 6 months of employment in the emergency dept.
- Work Experience Required
- One year of nursing assistant experience is preferred.
