Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing CO State Pharmacist License
Education: Pharm. D.
Experience Needed: 2 years
Schedule: Per Diem, On Call, As needed
Length of Assignment: Per Diem, On Call, As needed
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 Depending on assignment
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Pharmacist
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Pharmacy in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacies.
- Receive new written prescriptions or refill requests, and verify that information is complete and accurate.
- Verify physicians’ orders in the computer order system and/or call physician offices to clarify or modify medication or therapies, as needed, based on patient medical histories.
- Establish or maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken.
- Perform drug calculations and interpret prescriptions; verify prescriptions and counseling.
- Review patient profiles prior to dispensing.
- Dispense narcotic medications and maintain logs.
- Pre-pack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, type and affixing labels.
- Last check pharmacist – review and check pharmacy technician’s work based on physician prescriptions and Medication Therapy Management protocols.
- Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations, according to written prescriptions.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugs.
- Take inventory, place orders, check-in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
- Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Answer telephones and respond to patient or pharmacy technician questions.
