We are seeking a Bank Ops Leader:
The Lead, Core Banking Systems & Bank Operations is a key role within a cross-functional team responsible for overall business resiliency and customer experience. The role will lead design, configuration and operations of core banking systems to support business activities involved with lending, money movement, etc. This position will be on-site based in our offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Lead will ensure that the core banking systems are configured and operated as necessary to achieve business objectives, to provide unparalleled customer experience, to streamline internal processes to be efficient, and incorporate the appropriate operational and risk controls.
The Lead will organize the team to support daily banking transactions, emphasizing error-free and automated execution of tasks. The role will ensure security, regulatory compliance, integrity, availability and scalability of the bank data and the core banking platforms.
The Lead will serve as a subject matter expert, engaging with internal stakeholders, in all matters related to the resiliency of the banking platform. The role will take the lead in a cross functional team to design and implement business capabilities using the core banking systems.
The role will contribute to fostering the dynamic, open and customer-centric culture of the bank.
Responsibilities
- Functional responsibilities include lending, money movements, exception processing, and other bank operations related areas.
- Lead enhancements and continuous improvement of the core banking functionality, implementing system changes, upgrades, modifications, testing, documentation and communication of changes.
- Review and recommend appropriate use of the core banking system modules and its functionality, optimizing provision of effective system controls, internal processes, and customer experiences.
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal products & platform, technology, customer success and marketing teams, providing business analysis, advice and guidance for matters relating to the core banking system.
- Ensure design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the daily operations to ensure the accurate and timely posting of banking transactions, including money movements.
- Oversee the integrity, systems controls and regulatory compliance of the core banking product configuration, user security levels, internal & external interfaces and adherence to bank policies and procedures. Implement robust change management practices.
- Manage vendors and service providers related to core banking systems, and as necessary assist in quality assurance, compliance audits, etc.
- Ensure training of the staff to avoid single points of reliance, workload imbalances, lapses in bank operations, task backlogs, etc.
- Act as a change agent in fostering the desired organizational culture.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in an operations environment within a banking or financial services firm. Experience in a fintech and/or startup environment preferred, but not required.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or business. Both the minimum experience and education required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage different stakeholders within and outside the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of business trends, banking processes, technology landscape, etc.
- Propensity to take a proactive approach in issue resolution, and in constant evolution of business capabilities.
- A demonstrated track record of internal & external customer orientation, ability to achieve results managing resources, dependencies and associated constraints well.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment with concurrent initiatives, and demanding deadlines that necessitates high levels of organization and communication to avoid surprises in execution.
- Ability to learn, adapt and constantly evolve personal capabilities and contributions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
