Who are we looking for?
Ryan Swanson is currently seeking a Legal Assistant. Performs a variety of secretarial duties for attorney(s) and/or Paralegal(s) to whom assigned according to established policies and procedures. Performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties, requiring a knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process. Maintains positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff and observes confidentiality of client matters.

The ideal candidate must have advanced litigation support skills, including in federal, state, and appellate courts. The position requires excellent organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft software, the ability to work a high-volume desk, and the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail are of critical importance.
Duties include, but are not limited to, researching federal, state, appellate and local rules to properly e-file, manually file, and/or serve court documents, editing/proofreading, docketing, time entry, communicating with courts, clients, and attorneys, preparing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements, opening new client/matters, opening, and distributing mail, and file organization.
Approximately four years legal assistant job experience necessary to gain an understanding of law office policies and procedures and produce accurate legal documents with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication with superior grammatical skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in person, by email and telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
