Regional Public Accounting firm offers challenging growth opportunity and a great team environment for a Senior Accountant with both tax and audit experience in a public accounting environment. Ability to work from any of our 3 locations, with flexible hybrid options available, though fully remote work is not offered.
Responsibilities For Senior Accountant
Performs audit, review, or compilation procedures, including auditing client-prepared trial balances, financial statements and schedules
Identifies and reconciles discrepancies between schedules and financial statements
Prepares and proofs financial statements, audit reports and other documents
Solid understanding of preparing accrual basis accounting entries
Prepares Federal and State individual and business tax returns
Accounting and tax work paper preparation
Experience with completing tax planning and research
Understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements
Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
Handles routine client tax questions and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
Ability to develop strong working relationship with clients
Position Requirements
Qualifications for Senior Accountant:
3 – 7 years of recent public accounting experience
Active CPA preferred; CPA candidate (150 credits to sit for the CPA exam) is required
Degree in Accounting or related field with ability to sit for CPA exam
Exceptional writing skills
Strong accounting, analytical, technical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Excellent presentation and communication abilities
Prior Basic Supervisory Experience Preferred
Ability to handle multiple engagements and effectively delegate work as needed
Willingness to travel locally (DC/MD/VA) on a limited basis
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with tax research databases such as GoFileRoom, tax software such as Thomson Reuters or comparable programs and standard tax work papers
Salary based on experience $ 80,000 - $ 110,000
