Class A Support Truck Driver

Position Description

We have an opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver in Oakland, CA and we want the right Driver to join us at Ryder

Pay: $2,300 OR MORE a Week With Earnings On:

• Hourly Pay: $29.00 Per Hour
• Overtime Pay: $43.50 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 45 hours per week
• Layover Pay: $50.00 per Layover 
  • Layovers will be in a Ryder Provided Hotel OR Sleeper
• Sign On Bonus: Pays you $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
• Schedule: Varies on Account you are Supporting mostly Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays and Sundays as account needs
• Top Earners Make up to $120k for their W2!!

Ryder Trucks are Three Years or Newer

• Deliver SOLO To: Mostly California, possibility of OR, UT, ID, NV
• Route: Varies by Account may be Home Daily, Regional or Over the Road with Max 2 weeks out.
• Tractor Type: Sleepers and Daycabs - Mix of Automatic and Manuals
• Trailer Type: Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Conestoga  mostly 48' and 53’ foot trailers
• No Certifications needed - Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
  • Equipment: Liftgate, Pallet Jack, Forklift, Moffett
• Freight: Mix of Freight depending on Account Supporting can be Touch, No Touch and Load Securement
  • Endorsements: Preferred but not required!

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note:  Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
