This position is 4 hours daily, Monday through Friday, at $16.50 per hour.
JOB SUMMARY:
-To assist with various tasks related to food preparation serving, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Experience with food service industry preferred.
-Must pass a background check.
REPORTS TO:
-Food Service Manager and Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at the school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
-Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service operations.
-Prepare meals according to a planned menu.
-Assist in preparation of ingredients and food items.
-Prepare simple dishes or menu items.
-Follow food safety guidelines and health regulations.
-Assist in collection of food service revenue, counting and depositing funds.
-Check food shipments, sign invoices after verification.
-Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
-Adhere to workplace safety protocols.
-Operate and maintain food service equipment.
-Operate a computerized point of sale program.
-Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Principal.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
-Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
-Prolonged periods of standing up to six hours; 5% sitting, 35% standing, and 60% walking.
-Required to use hot equipment and sharp utensils.
-Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
-Exposure to a variety of childhood/adult diseases and illnesses.
-May be exposed to bodily fluids.
-Exposure to a range of heating, air conditioning and ventilation conditions.
-Function in a workplace that is usually moderately quiet but can be noisy at times.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
-Non-Exempt from overtime pay
-Full-time = 30 hours or more per week
