Event Bartender

If you have a positive attitude, are detail oriented, and don't get flustered under pressure, then we want you on our bar staff! We host hundreds of events per year across all our venues and post our schedules at least 3 weeks out so you can plan your shifts well in advance!

**Pay is $16-$18 per hour plus tips**

Job Description:

Operated by Rye Venue Management, this is an event-style bartending job, usually revolving around weddings and receptions. We have multiple venues in Grand Rapids that we deploy bar staff to including New Vintage Place, the Ballroom at McKay, The Lit, and Venue St. George. Mostly shot and pop, wine, and beer, with easy cocktails like Margaritas, Mules, and Old Fashioneds. These are often high volume events and the shifts are generally 8-10 hours.

Qualificiations:
-Previous experience as a bartender
-Positive demeanor and guest-focused service in a busy bar setting
-Knowledge of POS systems (we use Square)
-Previous event bartending a plus but not required
-Able to comfortably lift and move 30 pounds
-Able to stand and move around for 8-10 hours
-Relevant training certificates: TIPS, ServSafe, etc

Requirements:
-Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for event patrons
-Conform to all State and Federal laws regarding alcohol service
-Monitor guest consumption and serve responsibly
-Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies each shift
-Stay guest-focused and nurture a positive experience
-Complete opening and closing checklists each shift to company standards
-Assist event attendants and MODs with tear down
-Must work 2 shifts per pay period (bi-weekly pay) or 4 shifts per two pay periods
