What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Person (3rd shift) position at S&C Electric Company?
Other tasks associated with this job include but are not limited to the following:
- Cleaning and sanitizing washrooms.
- Maintaining cleaning supplies in closets and storage areas.
- Removing snow and ice from doorways and sidewalks using supplies such as salt and the proper equipment such as a snow blower or a hand shovel.
- Performing other maintenance tasks, such as waxing floors and unclogging toilets as assigned.
- Occasionally assisting in office moves on Saturdays when needed.
- Working in disagreeable working conditions including exposure to chemicals, dirt, oil, grease, working at various heights, and in outdoor weather conditions.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
- Ability to follow specific verbal and written instruction and procedures.
- Ability to operate powered equipment such as snow blowers and floor buffers.
- Ability to read and understand job-related materials such as warnings on cleaning supplies.
- Ability to work on ladders at heights ranging from six to eight feet above the ground.
Relevant Experience Required: Prior plant/office cleaning experience preferred. Less than 1 year experience.
MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking throughout the shift.
- Lifting: Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Walking: Frequent walking moderate distances (< 1/8 mile).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Pushing: Frequent pushing of brooms, furniture dollies and snow shovels.
- Pulling: Minimal amount of pulling.
- Bending: Moderate bending required to perform job tasks.
- Reaching: Requires reaching to clean and dust furniture, fixtures above eye level.
- Handling: Continuous handling of cleaning supplies weighing up to 35 lbs.
