Position Overview
Day to day business manager for a group of core manufacturers, charged with achieving company sales goals and objectives as well as those of the assigned manufacturer portfolio. Maximize sales by implementing advanced planning, forecasting and program execution based on category management principles and best practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Achieve sales goals and operating objectives while representing the company in a professional manner.
- Through category management principles and aid of the manufacturer partner, develops, presents and analyzes new item and promotional opportunities to maximize speed to shelf and brand share.
- Develops and presents business and category reviews.
- Manages monthly pricing and competitive price tracking.
- Manages trade fund spending and P&L.
- Collaborates with field sales to develop realistic and achievable goals and objectives to meet the needs of the manufacturer.
- Develops and delivers effective and timely communication to the manufacturer, management and field sales with regards to key executional points necessary for success at store level.
- Develops and executes against annual sales and marketing plans and budgets.
- Works in tandem with planogramming department to insure proper space management of new and existing items.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Skills and Competency Requirements
- Experience calling on the military resale channel to include DeCA or Exchanges.
- Strong analytical, presentation, planning, time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and manufacturers at the same time.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word) or similar.
- Knowledge and experience working with IRI, Nielsen and/or Empower IT scan data.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certificates
- 5-7 years experience in consumer goods sales and marketing.
- College degree preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Demands
- Able to sit and stand for more than 30 minutes
- Life up to 50 lbs.
- Travel up to 20%
