Full time, hourly position. We are looking for a person to learn multiple tasks around the quarry. Job responsibilities will vary. Previous quarry / mining experience helpful. This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting and working in awkward positions. Laborers are exposed to extreme weather conditions, dust, dirt and a shop environment. Potential employee may be required to work at other sites as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Assist plant operator in performing routine, daily plant maintenance such as lubrication, major and minor repairs, shoveling, wash-down, etc.

· Pick up debris around the plant and empty trash on a daily basis.

· Clean and return any tools or equipment used during the shift to the proper storage area.

· Assist plant operator adjusting crushers.

· Adding necessary fluids to any and all reservoirs.

· Use of hand tools such as shovel, pick, hoe and sledge hammer to clean and maintain plant.

· Operate the water truck.

· Operate small loader (requires MA hoisting license)

· Replacement of heavy machine parts

· Clean up lunchroom (tables, microwave, refrigerator & floors)

· Keep work areas clean and in a safe condition

· Other duties and responsibilities as required.

· Willingness to learn to operate a Haul Truck, (to be a back–up driver as needed)

Requirements and Skills

· High school diploma or GED.

· Driver’s license – MA 2A hoisting license preferred (Must obtain within first 90 days.)

· Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.

· Must be able to work independently.

· Must have the ability to work at heights and sometimes tight spaces.

· Knowledge of welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication helpful but not required.

· Must be willing and available to work overtime and Saturdays when needed.

· Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions.

· Must have a willingness to learn, take direction and follow safe work practices.

· Must be able to frequently lift up to 80 lbs.

· Complete work assignments in the allotted time frame.
