100% REMOTE - COBOL/SQL Developer

                                                                    This position is 100% remote! 

We are presently seeking an experienced Application Developer. As a key member of the Information Technology team this position is responsible for support for the claims system with some development and enhancing the current Claims Processing system. This will include development and integration with auxiliary systems (Data Warehouse and Job Scheduler) for multiple client systems for smooth 24/7 processing. The candidate must be willing to take ownership of business processes and tasks and take projects from conception to completion. It is expected that he or she will become a technical expert on the operation of the Claims Processing system and utilize this knowledge to coach business partners on the development of logic commands associated with system operation.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

• Provide support for users of Impact system (claims processing system)
• Research and resolve tickets relating to claims processing and routing issues
• Research and resolve tickets relating to EDI claim feed issues
• Work with vendors and other departments to build and QA 837 format claims feeds
• Maintain claim EOB messaging tables and set up logic to apply messages
• Work with other departments to set up logic for correct claims routing to vendors
• Make program changes as necessary to meet vendor requirements for 837 claims feeds
• Use SQL queries to create update files to perform mass updates of system data files
• Run process to create claims benefits test data
• Apply semi-annual code set maintenance to system

 QUALIFICATIONS   

• College degree or equivalent in Information Technology   
• 5 years experience as an Application Programmer in COBOL or a similar language.  
• 2 years experience in SQL programming.  
• Experience in both Windows and Linux platforms  
• Good understanding of the claims processing business helpful  
• Experienced with supporting a multi-branch heterogeneous environment
