Position: Part-Time School Resource Officer

Location: Knoxville, TN

Schedule: Monday’s & Wednesday’s 7:45a-3:15p

Job Description:

Are you a dedicated law enforcement professional who is passionate about fostering a safe and secure educational environment for students and staff? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Part-Time School Resource Officer in Knoxville, TN. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that safety and well-being of students and faculty while creating positive interactions within the school community.

Responsibilities:

· Establish a visible and approachable presence within the school/church premises on designated days (Monday’s & Wednesday’s).

· Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, and administrators to promote a safe and welcoming environment.

· Monitor and respond to any potential security threats or emergency situations.

· Collaborate with school staff to develop safety protocols and emergency response plans.

· Act as a liaison between the school, law enforcement agencies, and the community.

· Conduct regular patrols and maintain a vigilant watch over school/church property.

· Report incidents, maintain accurate records, and participate in relevant meetings and training sessions.

Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent (advanced education in criminal justice or related field preferred).

· Tennessee POST certification or military experience preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement or related field.

· Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, empathy, and professionalism.

· Understanding of youth development, behavioral intervention strategies, and conflict resolution.

· Knowledge of local laws, regulations, and protocols related to school safety.

· Physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
