About The Role
The Materials Program Manager is responsible to support the NPI team – New Product Introduction – by ensuring critical tool components are procurement competitive and delivered on time based off aggressive schedule. The role is of significant importance as it focuses on components and materials currently not on a BOM, requiring for the individual to do market research, find and onboard new suppliers and make sure first builds are done within the customer’s stringent specifications. The role requires to interact with both commercial and technical individuals located across various time zones, and be effective communicating technical and commercial requirements and expectations. This is a high paced environment, with exposure to various industries, giving the individual fast and wide learning, networking and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers
· Provides input sourcing team by performing make versus buy analysis.
· Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
· Forms Materials Core Team and coordinates product development process deliverables through matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control.
· Collaborates with engineering team to define and interpret engineering requirements.
· Coordinates activities around source selection, specification creation and price negotiation with appropriate team members.
· Manages project metrics related to cost, timeline, objectives
· Actively mediates and partners with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned.
· Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
· Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus
Requirements:
· Proven project management experience, preferably as project manager
· Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS outlook
· Basic knowledge of SAP or Oracle preferred
· English speaking and writing required, Mandarin, German and/or Korean preferred
· Able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
· Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 per hour
