CHST Safety Manager - San Bernardino

CHST Safety Manager Position Summary:

This position enforces Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) program for a college in southern California and may also include programs in support of overall company strategy. This will be a single site support role to start working in conjunction with site management The EHS manager is responsible for leading and managing employee health and safety, environmental activities, and this position may also be responsible for other Compliance program tracking as required. This position will support and drive continuous improvement of key performance metrics. This role will coordinate with site leadership team and functional management, HR, support return to work programs, and other corporate initiatives. This position is located in the Los Angeles CA area and per diem will not be provided.

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and complete records that meet regulatory requirements.

• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices through work site knowledge, employee interactions and work site inspection.

• Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs.

• Implement, administer and advise others on hazard controls and hazard control programs.

• Provide recommendations for correcting safety hazards and unsafe work practices.

• Provide follow-up to ensure implementation of corrective recommendations.

• Conduct mandated employee health and safety training programs as required by the Health & Safety Training Matrix, such as Hazard Communication, Lock Out/Tag Out and Personal Protective Equipment.

• Conduct on-site activities to control exposures to potential occupational health hazards.

• Assist in the completion of occupational health-monitoring activities to meet regulatory requirements for subjects such as asbestos, silica, hearing and lead.
