Optometric Technician

Duties:
- Perform initial patient screenings, including taking and recording medical history and visual acuity measurements.
- Assist optometrist with various procedures, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is clean and in working order.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Administer diagnostic tests, such as color vision testing and depth perception testing.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) software.
- Assist with frame selection and dispensing of eyeglasses.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing inquiries and concerns.

Skills:
- Proficiency in front desk operations, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures and equipment.
- Sales skills to assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement techniques.
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with EMR software.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
