Data Architect

Location: Hybrid 50% in Jefferson City Missouri

Salary: ($100k-$160k depending on experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our dynamic team and play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data architecture. In this role you will design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient data architecture solutions that align with business objectives.

To be successful you will be leading the existing state Architects to establish frameworks, patterns, automation, and appropriate solutions. Scope will also include assessing new technologies and providing recommendations for planning and implementation of those technologies. This position will collaborate with various State personnel from ITSD and several different State agencies, as required and directed by the State.

Responsibilities:

• Design, create, and manage data architecture. This includes defining the overall structure and organization of data, as well as the relationships and interactions between different data elements.
• Design and implement data models and database structures that align with business requirements.
• Design and implementing data intake and optimization, data lakes, data house, big data analysis, AI for data analysis modeling, Azure/AWS data ingestion.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and quality by establishing data governance policies and standards.
• Develop strategies for data storage, backup, and recovery.
• Collaborate with data engineers and other stakeholders to optimize data flow and accessibility.
• Evaluate and selecting appropriate data storage technologies and platforms, to include, but not limited to; familiarity with ServiceNow, AWS, and Azure.

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field.
• Proven experience (5 years) working as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with enterprise architecture standards, standing up ARB, architecture design templates and related EA activities
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman or Archimat
• Experience with various technology domains like cloud computing, data management, cybersecurity, networking and application development.
• Creating strategic plans, roadmaps and transformation initiatives that align IT strategy with overall business strategy
• Identifying cost optimization opportunities, assessing the return on investment of proposed architectural changes and articulating value with strategic IT investments
• Experience in the creation and management of architecture documentation for networks, business resumption, application dependencies, cloud services and related technical requirements
• Communication and collaboration with different departments, IT teams, executives and external vendors
• Experience with presentations and negotiations to gain buy-in and support for architectural decisions

Nice to have:

• Master’s degree in computer science
