Facilities Manager

Scope of Responsibility: Directs and coordinates the activities of employees and contractors engaged in the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and security of multiple facilities.

Essential Duties:

• Develop facilities policy and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment .
• Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
• Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
• Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
• Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including proper security measures are in place to include management of security teams and adherence to protocols.
• Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs.  Managing outside vendors as needed.
• Ensure that all building components are in compliance and have all the required up to date permits.
• Manage all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
• Ensure facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, and that work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines.
• May oversee contractors engaged for facility renovation projects.
• Ensure that project, department milestones, and goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
• Carry supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum 5 years of experience in facilities manager role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors, and team members.
• Great project management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, project management software, and spreadsheet software
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
• Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
• Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
