What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Safety Manager position at SABRE INDUSTRIES INC?
Scope of Responsibility: Under the direction of the Safety Director, the Regional Safety Manager is responsible for upholding the company, state, and federal safety guidelines and regulations. This position is responsible for documenting onsite safety audits, recognizing potential hazardous areas/procedures and recommending corrective action when necessary, and helping to ensure the safety of equipment and materials on the jobsite.
Essential Duties:
- Plans, organizes, schedules, and conducts inspections of facilities, work areas, and equipment.
- Monitors site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Assists in the implementation of corrective action/follow-ups to ensure proper action has been taken.
- Records data and communicates with Director of Health & Safety to ensure accurate and timely tracking.
- Operate, maintain, inspect, calibrate, and oversee safety equipment
- Provides regional level safety leadership and shall promote a positive safety culture
- Schedule regional and job site level audits based on event trending, lagging/leading indicators, and safety needs. Coordinate Safety, DOT and Training within assigned regional area.
- Facilitate the timely gathering of information for the completion of incident reports.
- Assist with Sabre Training Institute as directed by Management to ensure completion of
o OSHA 10/30 hr.
o Sabre Competent Climber/Tower Rescue
o First Aid/CPR
o RF Awareness
o Other class as requested
- Collaborates with the safety team in the management of open worker’s compensation claims to ensure timely response and resolution.
- Participate in parent company level safety audits across the organization and coordinate corrective actions feedback to the Director of Safety and operations management.
- Lead safety investigation calls relevant to events occurring within the assigned regional area. Coordinate follow-up with regional Leadership.
- Review weekly Ops Reports for safety planning purposes.
- Provide Leadership for safety training instruction and schedule as needed.
- May assist with/lead special projects as assigned related to organization-wide related safety matters.
- Provide leadership during root cause identification, investigations and case management.
- Coordinate, manage and respond to OSHA agency level audits as directed by the Corporate Director of EHS. Confer with the Corporate Director of EHS on all OSHA related contact.
- Review all events that have occurred within the assigned region for leading and lagging indicators. Will make sure investigations, corrective actions and safety planning is purposeful, complete and supported.
- Shall ensure timely notifications for serious events are made to Corporate EHS Director and Company Leadership.

Evaluation:
Employee will be evaluated on performance of the essential job duties, ability to maintain qualifications/requirements, and compliance with all Sabre policies and procedures. The evaluation period will follow the standard annual cycle based on the employee’s hire date.
