Job Posting for Tower Technician at SABRE INDUSTRIES INC
Scope of Responsibility: The Tower Technician is a member of a crew performing general construction activities, with an emphasis on installing tower systems and the maintenance and inspections of existing tower structures. The Tower Technician shall at all times uphold the foundational goals of Sabre, "Client Service, Quality, and Safety" to enhance the integrity for which the organization has become known.
Essential Duties:
Complete all necessary safety training provided by Sabre
Responsible for all phases of tower construction, modification, repair, and maintenance
Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete project
Complete quality work in a timely and efficient manner
Erection of various tower types, including self-support and monopoles
Installation and alignment of various types of antennas
Assist installing guy wires, grounding, and cad welding
Setting shelters and installation of ice bridge
Coaxial cable terminations and weatherproofing
Assist performing plumb and tension techniques
Complete all necessary technical training provided by Sabre
At all times, maintain safe work practices as outlined in the Sabre Safety Manual, as well as other safety and quality directives issued by the Crew Foreman or Management
Read and understand general Sabre project and safety documents
Operate hand and power tools
Operate trucks, trailers, and other equipment
Installation of various types of coaxial components
Assistance in the routing of coaxial lines in/on various types of structures
Assistance in the installation of various antennas on various structures
Regular and on-time attendance
Work in your shift as scheduled
Getting along with coworkers
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb with up to a 30 lb. load and work at elevated heights up to 2000', with most of the work performed at 400' or less; must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly
Ability to stand continuously, reach frequently, & bend at waist and knees frequently
Requires working outdoors in all types of weather
Ability to stoop, crawl, squat and lift 50 lbs.; and be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead occasionally
Requires good finger and hand dexterity to utilize various hand tools in a repetitive manner
