Job Summary:
Buyer at Sabrosura Foods will be responsible for ordering, managing inventory, maintaining appropriate levels, and ensuring our production team has the materials needed to meet our production schedule. Buyer will be responsible for the procurement process for milk and whey. Additionally, this role will place supply orders with the packaging buyer for Monticello needs. This role is integral to our operations and requires excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Procure milk, whey, and packaging necessary for our Monticello production operations while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining quality standards.
- Manage and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring excellent communication and timely deliveries.
- Work closely with the scheduler, plant operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with production schedules and budgetary goals.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing inventory, and minimizing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to anticipate material needs, communicate effectively, and align procurement activities with production requirements, product changes, and new item launches.
- Resolve delivery and invoicing issues with Suppliers.
- Conduct monthly inventory counts for stock items.
- Maintain accurate pricing and delivery dates in ERP/MRP system (Canopy)
- May purchase other expense items through our maintenance system (M )
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to address emergencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP system preferred.
Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in purchasing, preferably in food or CPG
- High School or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
