Position Overview:
The Athletic Trainer will contribute to the delivery of world-class care to King’s players- Sacramento & Stockton- assisting the Senior Director of Athlete Health in the customization of health, wellness, and performance programming. As a key member of the Health and Performance Team, they will share a progressive, team-centric mindset, and a commitment to an integrated high-performance approach.
The position will be focused on: a) the preparation of players for practices and games, b) daily monitoring and reporting of athlete health & wellness, c) performance of first aid and acute injury and illness care, and, d) execution of administrative tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Athlete Health.
What You Will Do:
- Perform pre- and post-practice/game treatment procedures on players as needed
- Schedule medical appointments, manage OTC medications, and consult with team physicians on injury diagnostics, imaging, and prescription medication management
- Perform soft tissue/manual therapy on players as part of a complementary holistic approach to care
- Oversee assistant athletic trainer
- Assist with the development, integration, and delivery of individualized hydration, nutrition, and recovery protocols and programs
- Oversee day-to-day organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of facilities and equipment
- Assist with ordering, organization, and management of equipment, supplies, medications, and supplements
- Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of all training spaces
- Participate in continuing education and learning activities as assigned
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Who You Are:
- 3 years of full-time experience working in a professional (or similar elite) sports environment
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or Exercise Science required, dual-certified Physical Therapist/Athletic Trainer preferred
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) & appropriate State licensure
- Demonstrated experience managing acute injury management return to performance
- Knowledge of the biomechanical and physiological demands of the game of basketball, and corresponding assessment and monitoring strategies
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, athlete management systems (ie: SMARTABASE) and performance software
- Competency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, Keynote, Pages, and the NBA’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (AthleteRMS)
- ART &/or LMT licensure, with demonstrated impact using manual therapy skills, tools, and techniques to complement our holistic approach to athlete management
- Current CPR and First Aid certification

Other:
- This position requires unconventional hours regular travel both in and out of season, and frequent work outside of normal business hours to ensure all deadlines and responsibilities are met

Compensation:
The salary range for this exempt position is $70,000 - $85,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
