JOB DESCRIPTION
Sacred Heart Community Service (SHCS) located in San José, CA is looking for a strong project manager and relationship builder to join our team as the Community and Corporate Partnerships Manager (CCPM) to cultivate and steward partnerships with new and existing companies organizations that will result in increased revenue and engagement in SHCS’ charitable, social justice, and anti-racism work. The person in this position must be highly organized and possess strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly and creatively. The ideal candidate must be committed to Sacred Heart’s vision of a community united to ensure every child and adult is free from poverty. For over 56 years, SHCS has been one of the leading institutions fighting poverty in Santa Clara County through a strategy that combines addressing the consequences of poverty through impactful programs while building power with people to push for systemic change.
Position Summary
The CCPM will work alongside a growing fund development team and is responsible for working in partnership with the team to strategize, implement and track progress on maintaining and expanding a portfolio that includes partners from corporate, faith-based, civic, and academic organizations. The CCPM is responsible for creating strong relationships with partnering organizations and their leaders to ensure mutually beneficial enduring partnerships that lead to philanthropic giving. Relationship building includes listening to organizational interests, matching them with SHCS opportunities, welcoming volunteer groups, coordinating organization giving, thanking donors and volunteers and planning and supporting events for donors and volunteers.
Description of Duties
Partnership Development and Outreach Development (80%)
- Maintains a portfolio of existing and new partnering entities that raises $750K annually for SHCS. ● Works in concert with the Funds Development Team to ensure community and corporate relations efforts are aligned with SHCS annual and campaign fundraising efforts.
- Maintains advisory committees of volunteer leaders among organizations to inspire and activate their networks in support of SHCS’ mission.
- In coordination with the volunteer office, oversees stellar volunteer experiences for organization partners.
- Organizes, schedules, and conducts community outreach activities including presentations, community events, service fairs, networking events and others.
- Facilitates conversations about the volunteer experience, root causes of poverty, and invites leaders, volunteers, and organizations to give to our cause through financial donations, volunteer and political campaign activities.
Leadership (20%)
- Supports the planning and implementation of agency-wide programs, such as the Holiday and Pack-a-Back program and is available for work during this period - three days before Thanksgiving and the last two weeks of December.
- Participates in important policy campaigns as assigned.
- Serves as on-site manager as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Strong commitment to our vision of ensuring every child and adult is free from poverty as well as a passion for social justice and strategies that address the causes of poverty;
- Minimum of 2 years of success in implementing strategy to maintain and grow a portfolio or organizations engaged in philanthropic activities both volunteering and donating;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Prior experience of leading efforts and coordinating large groups, including public speaking; ● Proficiency with CRM databases (such as Salesforce), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Understanding of data management, tracking, and analysis;
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, provide quick responses and highly organized;
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience;
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends;
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs without assistance and up to 50lbs with assistance;
- The position requires standing/walking for prolonged periods of time and computer use up to 6-8 hours per day;

- Must complete a DMV and a background check, and qualify to be insured under SHCS driving policy.
Preferred (but not required)
- Bilingual in English and Vietnamese or Spanish;
- Well-connected in Silicon Valley with the ability to draw on existing relationships.
Position is exempt, full-time, and reports to the Senior Director of Community Development This position works as part of the Community Development team (team responsible for communications, volunteer office, outreach), and our Funds Development team (team is responsible for annual fund, major fundraising campaigns, grants, and gift processing).
Compensation
The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience ranging from $70,000 - $80,000.
