Your Mission

SADA’s mission is to increase the capabilities of people and the performance of the organizations we serve. The Vertical Markets team supports this mission by building bridges between SADA’s products and services and the specific needs of customers in our industries. 

SADA’s Public Sector practice is focused on helping our customers transform their workplaces with Google technologies. Our work spans large federal agencies, states, local governments, and higher education systems. From streamlining office collaboration to creating compelling new user experiences, we are working to improve our customers' businesses so they may, in turn, better serve their citizens and students.

As an EdTech Industry Specialist, you’ll join our energetic and supportive team of industry leaders in developing innovative new technologies to address challenges such as scalable distance learning, optimizing enrollment and admission, AI-powered tutors for assistance learning, smart analytics for student retention, and more.

You will apply your EdTech industry and solution expertise toward guiding engineering efforts in developing compelling, repeatable solutions, supporting marketing and sales activities for those solutions, and influencing SADA’s long-term vision and roadmap for the broader EdTech product and solution space.

Key Responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role, wherein you will collaborate with multiple teams at SADA toward achieving your objectives. Examples include:.

Engineering and Technical Support Teams. You will guide our engineers in developing repeatable EdTech solutions, including:

  • Provide industry subject matter expertise to enable development teams to deliver compelling, valued-added solutions to EdTech customers
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, solution architects, product owners/managers, and UX/UI designers to deliver outstanding user experiences
  • Develop and oversee the execution of product roadmaps
  • Use Agile methodologies to created well-defined, documented product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Help these teams learn the language and nuanced expectations of EdTech customers, in order to provide our customers with five-star experiences
  • When necessary, provide supplemental assistance to the team’s designated project and/or product managers 

Sales and Pre-sales Engineering Teams. You will directly support SADA’s sellers and customer engineers in efforts to drive adoption through such activities as:

  • Work closely with sales and customer engineering teams on sales strategies for specific EdTech market segments and customers 
  • Provide training and tools to enable these teams to effectively sell SADA’s repeatable EdTech solutions
  • Participate directly in sales activities for key accounts, forging relationships of trust with decision makers and helping to close deals

Marketing Team. You will provide expertise to help drive awareness of SADA’s EdTech solutions across industry channels, including:

  • Provide industry expertise to develop and execute marketing campaigns that resonate with potential EdTech customers
  • Create relationships with key industry influencers and leaders at Google to help drive business and marketing opportunities to SADA

Customer Success Team. You will support this team’s efforts toward the satisfaction, retention, and growth of EdTech customers, including:

  • Work closely with Customer Success in their efforts to optimize processes and people to meet industry expectations
  • Forge relationships of trust with client leadership at key accounts 
  • Participate in periodic business reviews with clients and consult with account teams in helping them understand the expectations of EdTech customers

Your SADA Experience

Your onboarding and development experience will be customized upon your arrival. The following is a rough outline of high-level timing and expectations.

Months 1-2: General SADA onboarding, rapid deep dive into current EdTech solution projects, and mentored customer and partner interactions. Success measured by participation and completion of these activities.

Months 3-6: Rapidly increasing independence in the activities above, creation of initial product roadmap and requirements deliverables. Success measured by quality of independent work.

Months 7-12: Independent leadership exhibited on all key assigned responsibilities. Success measured by feedback from Public Sector and engineering teams on the value added through your participation.

Years 2 and beyond: Increasing independence, leadership, diversity of projects, and increasingly metrics-driven approaches to measuring success.

Job Requirements

Minimum experience and qualifications:

  • 4 years full-time, professional experience procuring, designing, developing, and/or implementing EdTech-related software
  • 2 years working with software engineering teams
  • 2 years in a requirements development role, such as business analysis, product ownership, or product management
  • Demonstrated ability working with C-level IT technical and business executives
  • Demonstrated ability working in highly collaborative roles and organizations

Preferred experience and qualifications :

  • Google Cloud experience; certifications a plus
  • Experience with a variety of EdTech products and solutions
  • Customer relationship management
  • Software and professional services purchasing and contracting
  • Product management/ownership
  • Industry-facing marketing and thought leadership activities
  • Public speaking
