About the Role

As a member of the Project Development team, the Solar Project Developer will be reporting to the Senior Vice President, Community Solar & Asset Acquisition. The Solar Project Developer will have a successful track record of identifying and closing sales opportunities with large corporations and a passion for promoting sustainability and addressing ESG goals. As an important contributor within a fast-paced company environment, this hands-on position requires a high attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional team of professionals.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial passion for renewable energy development and a desire to work with clients to transform the way they procure energy.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with large corporations and target prospects in the energy industry
  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through market research and networking
  • Present and promote solar and/or storage projects and negotiate contracts
  • Work with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery, including coordinating with engineering, construction, and finance teams
  • Continuously monitor market trends and competition and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and technology advancements

 

Qualifications:

Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing company. In addition, the candidate must possess:      

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in energy industry sales and marketing, with a focus on solar and/or storage projects
  • Proven track record of closing sales deals with large corporations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Passion for sustainability and addressing ESG goals

Location: NYC/Remote 

At Aspen Power, our work model includes three ways of working: virtual, in-person, and hybrid (a hybrid of in-person and virtual). 

Compensation Range: 

The salary range for this position is: $160K – 190K plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
