Job Summary
Under the direction of the Claims Administration Unit Manager you will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting on various claims function activities and results. Claims Analysts responsibilities vary from computer system testing to claims training, auditing and project management.
Candidates for this position must be flexible, organized and resourceful. Strong analytical and communication skills are required.
Duties
- Identify severity, reserving, and expense issues through analysis of data reports. Conduct file audits and report to management with recommendations for improvement.
- Participates in user testing on various claims systems and software applications.
- Evaluates new products or services that may improve operating efficiencies within the various Claims Departments.
- Reviews and updates policy and procedures documentation.
- Assists Senior Management with production of management reports to assess the overall performance of the various Claims Departments.
- Develop and maintain skills sufficient to effectively use all database tools and desktop applications in the claims division.
- Assists Senior Management with the development, implementation and revision of Safety’s catastrophe claims plan.
- Assists Senior Management in the creation, presentation and updating of training modules for claims staff in Property, Casualty, Homeowners and other Claims Departments.
- Assists Senior Management with the review of potential vendors and the management oversight of existing vendor relations.
- Assists Senior Management in conjunction with other departments in ensuring that regulatory and legal requirement compliance is met.
- Performs administrative activities at the direction of the Claims Administration Manager.
- Performs other activities as required.
Qualifications
- 2-4 year college degree.
- 3 years handling Massachusetts Auto/Homeowner Claims.
- PC experience, including familiarity with Windows XP and Microsoft desktop applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience with delivering oral presentations in front of large and small groups.
- CPCU/AIC designation or active pursuit of designation preferred.
- Customer service experience.
