What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician II position at Safety Kleen?
The Opportunity:
Safety-Kleen East Chicago, IN is looking for a Lab Technician II to join their safety conscious team. The Lab Technician is responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.
Shift: 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday. Some weekends needed as well; if you work a weekend you are off during the week to compensate for time off.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
- Performs basic analysis of samples following prescribed procedures;
- Utilizes basic instrumentation;
- Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion;
- Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines;
- Performs cleaning and general housekeeping of work area.
What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?
- BS in Chemistry or related science is required;
- 1 years of previous lab technician experience is required;
- Previous experience with ICP or GC analysis is preferred;
- Valid driver's license required;
- Experience with utilizing computer software preferred.
