What are the responsibilities and job description for the Railcar Painter position at Safety Railway Service, L.P.?
Summary: Under direct supervision is responsible for painting the inside/outside of rail cars to include tank and hopper cars. I n addition, maintain housekeeping of paint shop to include picking up trash and general cleanup.
Essential duties: Must comply with all safety regulations, rules, policies, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be a team player, Must be punctual and consistently at work on time. Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent. Meets productivity standards. Completes work in a timely manner.
Qualifications: Willingness to accept instructions, follow instructions, demonstrate a desire to learn, be aware of safety consideration.
Experience.: Previous experience required in the paint trade or rail car industry
Language ability: Ability to read a limited number of words. Ability to speak simple sentences. Must be able to communicate in English.
Work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heart, work near moving and mechanical parts, work at heights and in confined spaces. May encounter fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
