As a Risk Engineer, you will provide a high level of property risk engineering support for SafetyCulture Care operations in Australia. With responsibility to own the end to end advisory process, you will identify key risks and exposures with the full range of property insurance policy coverages and develop reports and evaluations to both internal and external customers.

You will act as a trusted advisor to your customers, conducting virtual surveys and partnering with them to understand potential risks and guiding them through the evaluations process.

• Undertake risk engineering activities
• Conduct property risk evaluations
• Review information provided by third parties Conduct virtual surveys and physical site inspections when required
• Provide general technical support to assist the underwriting team
• Review risk engineering requests for support to ensure that the required scope of evaluation and response is understood and a response in provide accordingly
• Keep up to date with current loss prevention, risk engineering best practices and market trends
• Work in conjunction with others on special projects to improve process efficiency, develop new business opportunities or risk engineering products
• Provide technical support in a specialised area of expertise as designated for the benefit of SafetyCulture Care and our insureds
• Keep up to date with the latest technical developments across key industries and provide technical updates to the underwriting team
• Implement SafetyCulture Risk Mitigation Tools with customers

• Minimum 5 years experience in provision of risk management and consulting services
• Knowledge of property risks including WHS, hazardous chemicals, electrical and fire safety
• Strong knowledge of Australian Legislation, and Australian International Codes of Practise and Standards
• Willingness to not just tick boxes but to understand a customer’s business and how we as a business can best assist them to mitigate claims through practical, relevant and achievable risk improvement recommendations
• Strong communication skills both in person and online
• Customer first and consultative approach
• Effective time management skillsAbility to work both independently and in a team environment
• Relevant qualification in engineering, risk management and/or WHS
• Previous Risk Engineering experience in private practise 
• Experience in WHS Consultancy and advise, dangerous goods, hazardous management, and asbestos material assessments would be desirable
