Job Overview

• Open gates to the lot and check bus parking areas to ensure all can be dispatched in a timely manner. Re-positions any buses that may impede the traffic in the yard.
• Check and fill oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid and belts on buses. Ensure that adequate supplies to perform checks are maintained. Communicates with the shop lead regarding supplies and oil inventory dispensed into equipment.
• Twice a week, check tires for damage and proper air pressure. Tire damage must be reported to the shop immediately.
• Inspect all vehicles on a regularly scheduled basis for physical damage. Any damage will be reported immediately to the Contract Manager or Lead Mechanic.
• Maintain adequate inventories and supplies to make minor repairs and facilitate the washing of buses.
• Perform light interior and exterior maintenance on vehicles as required. This includes but is not limited to seat repair, mirror adjustment and replacement, jump starting buses, cleaning windows and lamp replacement.
• Clean interiors and exteriors of buses as required to maintain cleanliness of the fleet.
• Perform maintenance of buildings and grounds to include yard cleanliness, grass and weeds or any other yard projects that are assigned.
• Keep walkways shoveled and salted.
• Salt parking areas as needed.
• Maintain the appropriate credentials to drive vehicles to the safety lane.
• Pick up and deliver parts and vehicles as needed.
• Follows all safety standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: (1) wearing safety glasses, (2) safety gloves as needed, (3) wear proper attire.
• Performs any other management requests or directives as requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
