The Junior Systems Engineer is responsible for coordination and administration of all core server systems in a Windows Server 2008 – 2016 environment. This includes setup and administration of physical/virtualized/clustered servers, managing Active Directory/ Domain Controllers, MS Exchange 2013 email infrastructure, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop services, backup services, VMWARE and SAN administration.
Additionally, this position will set direction for the standards and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring security of the server environment and recommending appropriate technology solutions to meet growing organizational needs. The Junior Systems Engineer will be required to communicate with other business units to determine appropriate solutions to meet needs, coordinate with vendors, communicate with team and management on existing issues, serve as escalation point for the IT team, and act as project lead/resource on IT team projects.
This position will oversee maintenance of the internal network services as well as troubleshoot issues. Additional responsibilities include responding to and planning for service outages as well as participating in disaster recovery planning. The Junior Systems engineer also provides on-call support as needed.

- As needed, coordinate with relevant vendors, take lead on IT projects, participate and contribute to disaster recovery planning
- Serve as escalation point with IT team, communicate effectively and contribute within a dynamic team environment
Proficiencies:
- Experience administering internal of DNS/DHCP, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Exchange Servers, HTTP/ FTP servers, firewalls
- Experience with Cisco Meraki is a plus
- Familiarity with managing at least one SQL server.
- Experience with Cisco UCS Technology
- Experience with IT project management
- Experience with disaster recovery
Position Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience with Windows 2008 / 2016 Server environments and networking
- 3 years’ experience managing Windows Active Directory and related Windows Security
- 3 years’ experience managing Exchange 2013, including upward migrations
- Strong skills in XenDesktop, XenApp, and virtualization technology specifically VMWARE
- Strong routing & switching troubleshooting skills
- Experience with storage arrays (Nimble / Pure) are a plus
- Experience with Enterprise Backup strategies
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- System Integration skill set
- Minimum 3 years of IT experience
- 2 years’ experience working with RDP / Citrix / VDI (XenApp, XenDesktop)
- Professional Certification (preferred)
