We are hiring a Purchasing Specialist to provide daily support to our 75 dental offices throughout Florida and Georgia, placing orders, and researching discrepancies, back orders and order status. The Purchasing Specialist must be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and communicate within a team environment, whether written or verbally. They must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines. The individual will be proactive, resourceful, and driven by a high sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
- Process daily orders from our 75 dental offices throughout Florida and Georgia
- Support vendor purchasing requirements, such as state/government issued license (DEA & dental license)
- Perform inventory reconciliation and inventory level assessments
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions
- Asses current material availability; reasonably predict future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables
- Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
- Compile, review and analyze data
- Recommend changes to improve efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in Purchasing
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Critical thinking skills, ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
- Capacity to work independently or within a team environment, follow direction, trouble shoot and meet goals and objectives in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills
- Associates Degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required
