Job Title: Commercial Accounts Specialist (exempt)                            

Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Summary/Objective: The Commercial Accounts Specialist is Sagiliti’s representative to our clients, and the liaison between client and utility providers. You also collaborate with internal teams, such as data entry and accounting, to ensure that client needs are being met and internal operations are running smoothly. You take and give direction within and across teams, build rapport, and earn the respect of colleagues and clients with your excellent interpersonal skills.

 

In this role, you are responsible for the integrity of energy data and the timely payment of all utility bills for assigned clients. You generate utility reports, pay bills, trouble shoot billing issues, and monitor data quality. This includes making sure billing is accurate, processing client requests, and responding to client inquiries and concerns.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with utility and water providers on behalf of assigned clients, obtain, pay, and monitor bills in a timely manner, noticing and researching account anomalies, and quickly resolving problems.
  • Monitor payments to utility companies (A/P) and reimbursements from clients (A/R) to ensure all bills are paid on time
  • Provide back up and training to billing specialists, data entry, and/or accounting staff as needed
  • Run and review internal reports for correct entries, mathematical accuracy and proper coding; uncover, research, and resolve discrepancies
  • Work with accounting staff and data entry staff to correct data and resolve problems
  • Identify mistakes and resolve problems, whether they are internal or from utility providers, before they come to the attention of the client
  • Provide outstanding service to clients by responding to inquiries and requests quickly, accurately, and professionally
  • Promote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace and consistently bring a high level of self-awareness and empathy to all personal interactions
  • Develop and share best practices with team members to continually improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our processes.

  • Aptitude for learning new technology and software quickly

 

  • Ability to work at our Excelsior office at during first 90 days of training. Position can be hybrid or remote after that


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years of relevant work experience - customer service, client liaison, project manager, account coordinator, program specialist, or similar role
  • Sustainability, utilities, or manufacturing experience helpful but not required


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
