Description
SAIC currently has an opening for an Electronics Technician in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
- Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
- Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
- Under routine supervision, performs a variety of semi-complex electro/mechanical tasks in the build up and assembly of chassis, power supplies, PCBs, cables and backplane assemblies.
- Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
- May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- Receives little instruction on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- High school education or equivalent and 5+ years of related work experience.
Required Clearance:
- US Citizen who must be able to obtain an Interim DOD Secret Clearance within 120 days of hire. Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret within 12 months of hire date. Active DoD clearance accepted.
Required skills:
- Experience working with hand tools, read blue prints and drawings.
- Organized, self-motivated with years of experience fabricating, installing and testing mechanical and electrical systems for commercial and military products.
- Exceptional ability to communicate with people at all levels of the company.
Desired Skills:
- Previous work on installing and routing cables on Navy shipboard rack systems.
