GSI Engineering Technician

Description

SAIC is currently searching for an Engineering Technician to help support our Systems Engineering team. 

Work will be performed onsite in Patuxent River, MD and is open to candidates local to the area.

• Assists with management of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project support team, and modification line management.
• Reviews status of projects against budgets; aids in management of schedules and prepares status reports.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet necessary goals and milestones.
• Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, modification line managers, and stakeholders.
• Responsibilities to include ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished, including work on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract.

• Review, analyze, and advice on the acceptance or rejection of CDRL submittals by contractor.
• Research, analyze, and collect data necessary to support the decision-making effort of both engineering and programmatic team members.
• Development, coordination, and participation in technical and programmatic meetings between various stakeholder entities.
• Responsibilities may include aiding Program Management in the development of budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for an assigned portion of a program, participating in and establishing and defining program plan requirements, and monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• AA degree and ten (10) years of recent and relevant technical experience in program management, technical or business analysis discipline; BS or BA degree in Business, Management or a related technical discipline and at least eight (8) years of experience.
• (2) years of recent and relevant technical experience in technical efforts supporting major weapon systems and components.
