Description
SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a position supporting the U.S. Army’s Non-Destructive Test Equipment (NDTE) program at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
NDTE provides mission support for the US Army, US Marine Corps (USMC), US Air Force (USAF), US Navy, and various other Department of Defense (DoD) entities. NDTE is responsible for the support and sustainment of DoD technical assets that deliver mission critical capabilities to the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing and debugging application software. You will conduct analysis and collaborate with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned tasks by supervisor who will verify the objectives are met within time constraints given.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Participate in internal reviews of software components/systems as well weekly meetings with our customers and daily standups with development team.
- Ability to apply the appropriate standards, processes, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to support the generation of products.
- Provide support replacing legacy hardware with modern components by integrating existing code base with Commercial Off-The Shelf (COTS) software and APIs.
- Support required testing of the software for the developed hardware and perform vulnerability scans to ensure no cybersecurity threats are detected.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and zero (0) years' experience; Six (6) years' additional experience can be accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US citizenship required.
Required Qualifications:
· Experience with object-oriented (class-based) or component-oriented programming languages such as C#, or C , preferably C#.
· Ability and willingness to learn new software and technologies quickly.
· A strong understanding of programming practices.
· Experience with .NET Framework and Visual Studio IDE
· Object-Oriented Programming and Design (OOP/OOD) experience
· Ability to work in a team environment collaboratively.
· Ideal candidate should be a self-starter who can manage time and expectations efficiently.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
