Description
SAIC is seeking a remote Cybersecurity Policy Analyst / Writer. This is in support of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cybersecurity mission to ensure HHS can actively protect the vital health information with which it is entrusted, respond to existing and emerging cybersecurity threats, and continue to enhance the program to ensure HHS has the capability and capacity to respond to new and emerging requirements, technologies and threats. The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst / Writer works with the Governance Policy Team and is responsible for investigation and research of current documents that provide guidance and direction of implementing cybersecurity policies, procedures, and memorandums.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst / Writer is responsible for drafting, writing, and updating policy documents for the Agency and for Operating Divisions within the Agency. Responsible for editing, proofreading, and providing writing support on non-technical and/or technical documents or sections of documents prepared by writers such as manuals, procedures, and specifications.
Duties may include ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
Influences development of solutions that impact strategic project/program/family goals and business results.
Recommends and implements new solutions, processes, policies, standards in support of function's strategy and operations.
Provides measurable input to new solutions, processes, or standards in order to achieve functional/project objectives.
Provide expertise in developing, supporting, and coordinating project timelines and milestones.
Conduct background research and analysis, including consolidation, analysis, and editing of technical materials such as reports of research findings, technical articles, news releases, standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and regulations.
Develop informational products for internal and external stakeholders: fact sheets, reports, memos, and recommendations.
Assist in management support activities: consolidation and deconfliction of inputs, quality control of responses, technical editing, and correction of products.
Assist in development of briefings for internal and external audiences, ensuring information is appropriate and in compliance with the current guidelines and policies and perform quality control to include editing documents for grammar, format, and content.
Assist in the planning and conducting necessary activities to engage the Agency and/or supporting divisions in the execution of policy development.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelors and 3 years of relevant experience. May accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Cybersecurity certification is a plus
Experience with Policy creation within the subject matter of Cybersecurity
Must have experience with providing Technical and non-Technical writing support
Must have prior experience creating manuals, procedures, and specifications specific to Cybersecurity or closely related
Excellent communication and writing skills with strong Technical Writing experience.
Experience with Federal Cybersecurity legislation, regulations, and Executive Orders.
Experience coordinating policies, directives, memorandums within the federal government .
Experience in federal, state, or local government policy development
Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
