Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Gold Image Cloud Engineer to become a key member of a fast-paced Security Solution development team, creating automated security solutions as products to be consumed by application development teams. The Gold Image Cloud Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a library of hardening solutions consumed as a service across a large enterprise. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in end point hardening across RHEL, Amazon Linux, and Window Server Operating systems. This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor OS patch release cycles for incorporation into regular updates for baselines
• Follow security standards such as NIST 800-53, vendor best practices and CMS Acceptable Risk Standards (ARS)
• Some system administration duties including Windows Server, Unix and Linux installation, hardening, patching, networking and firewalls
• Deliver security solutions using site reliability engineering (SRE) concepts
• Self-motivated to lead or support the resolution of complex questions and issues
• Utilize creativity and innovation to automate and streamline processes and procedures
• Collaborate proactively in a team setting
• Value attention to detail and outcome
• Work in a service and product centered environment such as SaaS/PaaS/IaaS
• Continuously analyze, problem solves, and improves service offerings
• Support hardening Operating Systems to include:
  • RHEL 7-9
  • Amazon Linux
  • Windows

Current or prior work experience at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and in particularly the Office of Information Technology / Infrastructure and User Services Group (OIT / IUSG) is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree with 9 years of overall professional experience is required. Additional experience can be substituted for education.
• 3-years' experience in of Cyber Security experience, using Agile scrum, and performing software configuration management functions
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance in accordance with HHS regulations.

Required Skills:

• Experience delivering DevSecOps in cloud-based environments AWS (preferred) and/or Azure/MAG
• Python scripting and automation experience
• Experience monitoring OS patch release cycles for incorporation into regular updates for baselines

Target salary range: $145,001 - $155,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
